Once, a long time ago, a tiny meteorite fell through the sky and hit Duck-billed Platypus with a BONK on her head. “Oh, no!” cried Duck-billed Platypus. “The sky is falling down! QUICK! EVERYBODY HIDE!”
But everybody else didn’t want to hide. Not Brontosaurus or Stegosaurus or Spinosaurus or Torosaurus or even Anklyosaurus. Instead, they all decided to RUN!
And yet, the sky kept falling down. It was a calamity! A catastrophe! It was surely the end of the world!
There was only one thing for it . . . Duck-billed Platypus would have to leave the dinosaurs and find somewhere to hide on her own . . .
Em Lynas is a children’s author with a love of silly poetry, magic, dragons and folklore. Em has been a shelf stacker, a shoe shop assistant, a primary school teacher, a mum, an educational publisher and now, an author of funny books. She lives by the seaside on the North East coast with her husband.
Chris Naylor-Ballesteros is originally from the North of England but now lives in France with his wife and children. His books have won the English Association’s Picture Book Award and have been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and Oscar’s Book Prize.
